Video lesson 04 – How to edit and customize your cards in Anki (in English) Video lesson 03 – About revisions in Anki (in English) Video Lesson 02 – How to Add Cards and Content to Anki Video lesson 01 – An overview of Anki (in English) Below are some video lessons and a series of links with very interesting articles on how to learn Japanese using Anki, I hope you like it. Initially, I thought of creating a tutorial showing how to use Anki step-by-step, but since the web is full of articles related to the subject, I thought it was better to “link” them than to write another article on the same subject. Want to know more about learning Japanese with Anki? That way, we focus on what we haven't learned yet by avoiding unnecessary content revisions. Likewise, when we replied that it was difficult to remember the answer, Anki schedules the review of the card for a short period of time. When replying that it was easy to remember a card's answer, Anki schedules its review for a long time. It is at this moment that the SRS system comes into play, giving increasing time slots for reviewing the same card. When you answer a question in anki, by clicking one of the buttons at the bottom of the cards, it automatically schedules the next review for that card. With this we can better fix the words and phrases in our mind, memorizing many interesting terms in Japanese. Then Anki shows the sentence in Japanese and you have to remember the Portuguese translation. What are Cards and how do they work?Ĭards are the cards used as FlashCards, where the question will be shown so that we remember the correct answer for it.Īfter adding sentences in Anki, you start reviewing the sentences. And now we can start creating our cards for review. When we create a new Anki file, using the “file>new” menu (file>new), we also create a new Deck (card box). We usually have one Deck per file in Anki and you can use this concept for a differentiated study of Japanese grammar, Japanese verbs, Japanese particles and so on. Think of Decks as boxes where your Cards are kept. Some initial conceptsīefore starting to learn japanese using Anki It is necessary to have knowledge of some initial concepts such as Decks, Cards and Anki's review scheduling system. You can find and download Anki from the official website, on the Anki Download page, or by clicking download to download the latest version. However, it requires free internet access during studies. Many students prefer to use the smart.fm, which is also free, is online and does not need to install programs on the computer. This helped a lot to spread Anki as a study tool for learning Japanese. Due to this difficulty, Anki ended up being my preferred choice for learning Japanese, reviewing phrases and words I learn during my studies.Īnother strong point of Anki is its translation into Portuguese, made by our friend Jô Nakashima. Nowadays, I don't have very frequent access to the internet. How to learn Japanese using Ankiīecause of this, I decided to create an article to help some readers use an SRS program in their studies, or at least serve as a starting point for doing so. Let's learn now to how to learn japanese using Anki step by step!Īnki is a free language learning tool based on SRS (Spaced Repetition System), aiming to review everything we have learned to ensure more quality in studies.Īfter having written about the SRS system along with its advantages and disadvantages, many readers have emailed me asking for more information on how to use an SNS to learn japanese, which are the best free SRS programs and etc.

The machine we were working on had 2 A-100 GPUs, 1TB RAM and 128 CPU Cores and was busy training something basically all the time, we scheduled our experiments to make the best use of the hardware available to us. In this time, we trained 96 different configurations of the acoustic model and 25 of the vocoder on our dedicated hardware. We had our dataset ready in May, so effective experimentation happened from May to August. We had a project duration from November 2021 until August 2022, with the premiere of the opera being in September. This section is mainly interesting if you are planning your next deep-learning project. With the resources available to us we managed to train a model that is not completely out-of-place on a professional opera stage. The quality could certainly be improved but that would require more data, time and hardware. We still see that occasionally the AI misses some consonants and the transition between notes is a bit choppy. That is basically the best compliment we could have gotten and means we subjectively match human performance, at least for this reviewer. If you didn’t know, you would not recognize the work of the AI as such. But: That moment isn’t particularly spectacular. While the avatars are sleeping, the AI is texting, composing and singing. The artistic reviews rarely went in detail on the technical quality of the SVS system, except for one statement in, loosely translated by us: To enable you to experiment with our work, we add preprocessing routines for the CSD dataset format, but note that the CSD dataset does not permit commercial use and contains children songs sung by a pop singer, so do not expect to get an opera voice when training on that data.ĭid it work? Well, the reviews of the opera as a whole are mixed, some were amazed and some call it a clickbait on tik-tok. We publish our code in three repositories, one for the acoustic model, one for the vocoder and one for a browser-based inference frontend. We recorded our own dataset with help of the amazing Eir Inderhaug. We use Global Style Tokens for controllability and obtain phoneme alignments through the Montreal Forced Aligner. The resulting architecture is based on HifiSinger and DiffSinger, where we use a transformer encoder-decoder adjusted with ideas from HifiSinger, combined with a shallow diffusion decoder and Hifi-GAN as a vocoder. Furthermore, we were tasked to satisfy artistic needs that came up during the project. Our requirements were to synthesize a convincing opera voice for an unknown sheet music and text which are part of the opera. Kling Klang Klong, alongside Angus Lee, was also responsible for the human-composed parts of the opera ( full list of contributors). The compositional AI was built by the artist collective Kling Klang Klong based on GPT-3 and a sheet music transformer.Ĭhasing waterfalls is a co-production of the artist collective phase7 performing.arts Berlin with the Semperoper Dresden and the Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival. In this post, we only focus on the singing voice synthesis, as this is what we at T-Systems MMS were tasked with. In addition to human-composed appearances throughout the opera, there is one scene where the AI character is supposed to compose for itself. Specifically, the opera was composed for 6 human singers and one singing voice synthesis system (“AI voice”), which perform together with a human orchestra and electric sound scenes. Shortly spoken, Chasing Waterfalls is the attempt to stage an opera on the topic of AI, that uses AI for visual and acoustic elements. I've successfully port forwarded other games before (with guides, of course), but I just don't know what in the world to do. I've no idea if any of these options even work for what I'm trying to do, and I'm not sure if I even did my original methods of getting it working correctly, as there seem to be practically no resources or guides that exist, let alone that are up to date, that involve this.Īs for technical details, I'm not the most "computer literate." All I can say is that I'm on Windows 10, with the Steam version of the game, and I have a static IP address. I port forwarded several ports, I tried to use GameRanger, heck, I even tried to get the dreaded Hamachi working, all to no avail. I looked up at least 3 or 4 different methods of trying to fix this. I wanted to see if I could host multiplayer, to which simply giving my friend my IP didn't work. Neither of us have installed the CD version before on the computers we currently use. So… again, it might work, but you’ll have to find some other way to get the signal when the doorbell rings. (It actually sends it twice, but the ‘notify me when’ app ignores the second signal). That moment was enough to trigger the “OPEN” signal. When it blinks off, there is no connection between the red and black wire for a moment. When somebody rings the doorbell, the light blinks off / on / off / on. When nobody is ringing the chime, it is on: the red and black wire are connected. I had not really even noticed that LED before… but it was the winner. I was pretty much looking for two points that were either disconnected or connected when no doorbell press was happening… but then changed that state when the doorbell was pressed. I took apart my chime and had my multimeter in the mode that detected resistance. If I connected the other ends, it would send a “CLOSED” signal. For example, if I attached two wires to it and held the other ends apart from each other, it would send an “OPEN” signal. Whoever makes the window sensors decided they might as well include that as a bonus… and it’s great! It detects if the two wires attached to it are connected or not. That green box on the window sensor is a dry contact sensor. It might work, but you’ll have to figure out a different way to do it. It works really well! I get notified almost immediately, while the doorbell is still making its noise. I used the “MIMO Lite Doorbell Device Type” (pretty much so it would say that it was a doorbell instead of a door) and the “Notify Me When” smartapp. I then put it all back together, letting the wires just poke out of the top of the chime into the sensor: I just didn’t screw the top screws all the way together. I opened the window sensor and plugged the wires into the contact sensor (red on the right). I then cut off the LED and stripped the wires. I opened the Door Chime and scraped off the glue from the LED. (Spend some time with a multimeter trying to figure out the best way to do this… then…) Ecolink Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor (DWZWAVE2-ECO).Wireless Door Chime GE Model 19208… since that is what I had.I’m sure others have done this, but I couldn’t find it… I recently moved into a house with a wireless doorbell, and wanted to get notifications when it rings. It's under all the Apple LLVM sections so scroll nearly all the way to the bottom and you'll see it. What I didn't realize was that there's a section in the XCode project's Build Settings called "Asset Catalog Compiler - Options". This seems to break things and appears to be a bug. The warning about unassigned items occurs when you drag an icon to another folder. Do I have to add something to the ist file to tell it what icons to use? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to assign these icons to or what I'm doing wrong here. I then tried dragging the "App Icon - Large" and "App Icon - Small" assets from the "Brand Assets" folder to the "BrandAsset" folder and then started getting warnings "The brand asset collection "BrandAsset" has an unassigned item "App Icon - Large" and "The brand asset collection "BrandAsset" has an unassigned item "App Icon - Small". However, when I deployed the App I just got a white App Icon again. Everything looked good on the image previews and the icons moved around in parallax with the lighting. I then dragged my two 400 x 240 and two 1280 x 768 icon layer png files to the "App Icon - Small" and "App Icon - Large" image wells (used the Front and Back ones and left the Middle one empty). Then I clicked on the + button and selected "App Icons & Launch Images > New tvOS AppIcon and Top Shelf Image".This created another folder called "Brand Assets" above the "BrandAsset" folder. That created an Images.xcassets file in my Resources folder containing an empty "BrandAsset" folder. Removed the stuff from Method 1 then clicked on "Use Asset Catalog" next to "App Icons Source" under my project's General tab. Then I added the following lines to my ist file:īuilt the project and deployed it to my Apple TV devkit. I used the Parallax Previewer tool to create a two layer 400 x 240 image and exported it to my Resources folder with the filename "AppIcon.lsr" and added it to my project. Can anyone help me get my App Icons working on Apple TV? I've tried two different ways and still see nothing except an empty white icon on the Apple TVs home screen for my App. Buffers and arrays within structures can also be viewed.ĪPI Monitor can display both input and output buffers.
